Official source
Scores, inspection types, dates, permit numbers, and violation descriptions come from the Jefferson County Department of Health’s public Food Service Scores directory and detail pages. Every inspection shown on InspectBham links back to its official source record.
Update process
An automated synchronization checks recent JCDH records daily. A full directory reconciliation runs weekly to discover additions and changes. InspectBham records the last successful synchronization time on establishment pages so visitors can judge freshness directly.
Important limitations
- A score describes conditions observed at one inspection, not current conditions.
- JCDH currently publishes at most two inspections on each detail page.
- Some facility types receive unscored or alternative inspections.
- Addresses are geocoded by a third party and may occasionally be unresolved.
- The official JCDH record controls if InspectBham and the source disagree.
Score categories
InspectBham groups numeric scores into visual bands to make the map and directories easier to scan. These labels are summaries of the published follow-up thresholds; they are not restaurant reviews or letter grades.
